As Modern Design evolves, we begin to quest every aspect of design in our home or workplace. One of the most fundamental, but often overlooked aspects of the design is flooring, and what adorns the flooring. Materials, colors, patterns, and styles come and go for art, upholstery, and other decorations – and the same holds true for the floor.
Wood flooring is timeless and we now have so many options to consider when deciding on which wood flooring to use. One of the newest options that we absolutely love is cork flooring. Cork flooring is a naturally sustainable product and comes in almost every color, style, and texture available. Not only does it look great, but it is environmentally responsible and makes a statement about how modern your design sense is.
Another item I wanted to touch on was the “outdoor room”, the extension of the home outside as furniture and cover have evolved outdoors. There are many options you have here to design with a modern flare. Outdoor Rugs have come a long way from those ugly green things people used in the 70s. You can now get an outdoor rug that rivals the most expensive indoor rugs. Choosing the right modern outdoor rug for your outdoor space helps enhance the indoor feeling and decor (it doesn’t matter whether it is your own house or just apartments for rent).
These are just a few new options that are out for bringing modern design back to the ground, an often overlooked place. Flooring, and what covers it, is still essential when considering your overall modern design.
